I miss the ocean - feeling the cool water on my skin, the amalgamation of shell and sand caressing my feet as I stumble through the waves…but It’s been too hot to go to the beach, unfortunately. I’m BEGGING for cooler weather at this point!
Anyway, one of my favorite paintings, “Open Window” by Henri Matisse, was on my mind while creating this piece. If I could glance at the ocean from a nearby window, that would heal me. Consider this piece as a longing for my favorite place.
